Weekly Update – October 22nd, 2020
Dear Church Family,
On December 7th and 8th, we will have a photographer here to take pictures for our new church directory. I know that this is kind of early, but I wanted to begin getting the word out so that you can make plans to have your picture made. For those of you who are comfortable, there will be a schedule available in the next few weeks to sign up on. For those of you who are still hesitant to come, there will be an additional date set during the spring to accommodate you.
The exciting part of this directory is that, yes it will look a bit nicer than our previous one, but even more than that, there will be an online component available to you. With this directory, you will have the ability to download an app onto your phone where you can access not only a picture of members from the church, but also their contact information, online giving to the church, sermons, etc. I hope you will make plans to be in this directory either during the dates in December or in the spring.
On another note unrelated to the church, thank you to everyone who prayed for and served my family this week. This week has been filled with an indescribable grief that we are still trying to process. At the same time, we have never felt as encouraged as we have in the almost 6 years that we have been here. We truly love you and are thankful for you at this time.
This week we will hear from Pastor Matt as he preaches on Sunday morning. I hope that you will join us in person or by livestream.
Serving Him with You,
Pastor Michael Nelson

Announcements:
Budget Meeting: On Tuesday, November 10th at 7:00pm there will be a budget meeting that is open to all who would like to attend. The purpose of this meeting is to review the proposed 2021 budget before it is formally presented to the church. We will meet in the fellowship hall.
Grade School Sunday School: In addition to our nursery opening back up, our 1st – 5th grade Sunday School class will be available during our Sunday School hour. This is the only children’s Sunday School class offered at this time. They will meet in the usual location, upstairs in U-5. You can find the health guidelines for this class HERE.
Nursery: Our nursery is now open! We have two rooms that will hold children ages 0-3. We plan to fully comply with all regulations from the CDC and Jackson County as we seek to safely and wisely care for our children. To start, the nursery will only be for our worship service. You can find the health guidelines for the nursery HERE.
Trunk or Treat: This year, on October 31st from 6-8pm, we will host a trunk or treat outside in our front parking lot. We will release the health guidelines for this event in the upcoming week, but for now, I want to encourage you to sign up to help. We need people who are willing to hand out candy from the back of their cars, others who can help with set up and/or break down, and some who can simply be present to help with anything else that might be needed for the night. Invite your family, friends and neighbors to join us on this night.
Health Guidelines: With no changes from the Health Department, we will continue in Phase 2.5 here in Jackson County. That means masks are still required. You can find the official guideline on mask wearing from the health department HERE. You can also find a video that outlines what Phase 2.5 looks like for our church HERE.
