Weekly Update – September 25th, 2020
Last week during our worship service, we looked at Matthew 5:13-16. The main call from this passage was to live as salt and light in this unbelieving world. There is no option to this type of lifestyle as a Christian. If your tastes have been satisfied through the living water that Jesus offers, then you will live a life that will reflect that reality.
Essentially living as salt means that our actions will confirm our confession of Jesus. Then with light, our words will profess the truth of what we believe. They both go together. Salt is the demonstration of our life, light is the declaration. We want to act and speak in every opportunity with our lives so that others might see Jesus, and then give glory to God.
As a church, let’s strive for this mission, to be a people who declare and demonstrate the power of God through the change that Jesus Christ brings into our lives. Let’s live this type of life, so that in all things we might bring glory to God in Grandview and beyond.
This week we will continue in our series on the Sermon on the Mount from Matthew 5-7. On Sunday we will take a look at “Christ and the Law” from Matthew 5:17-20. I hope that you will join us in person or by livestream.
