Weekly Update – November 13th, 2020
As we have talked about numerous times over the last several months, community is extremely important when we are told to live in a sort of isolation. That may sound ironic, but the truth is, being isolated and socially distanced doesn’t necessarily mean we have to be lonely. Sure nothing can replace physical interaction with others. But there are still numerous ways that we can feel connected with each other though many of us are still apart. This was highlighted for me personally these last few weeks. After the tragedy losing our little one at birth, though the grief is still present, we have never felt more encouraged. Much of that is due to phone calls, cards, encouraging notes and the prayers that have flooded us. This has come primarily through the church, but also from our kid’s school, distant friends and the community around us. All of this is to say, in these difficult times of social distance, election chaos and perhaps personal hardship, don’t neglect to encourage, pray for and connect with others on a consistent basis. It may lift someone up for than you know.
This week we be back in our series in the Sermon on the Mount. We will look at Matthew 5:38-42 as we consider the call to “Resisting Revenge.” I hope that you will join us in person or via livestream.
Serving Him with You,
