Weekly Update – March 12th, 2021
Last week we considered “The Mission of Jesus” as we took at look at Mark 1-3. It was a fairly large section, larger than we typically examine on a Sunday morning, but nonetheless, the theme of his mission was clear. Jesus Christ came to this world to usher in His kingdom through calling men and women to repent and believe. This week we will look at “The Ministry of Jesus” from Mark 4-6 as we consider his teaching and his power.
When thinking of the ministry of Jesus, it is clear to see that his power and his teaching only further explain and display his claim that His kingdom had come to earth. Jesus, through his teaching, is proclaiming a new rule or a new law by which His kingdom followers are to live by. His power further confirms His claim through demonstrating His authority and kingship within this new kingdom.
I want to again encourage you to read through the gospel of Mark as we take this big picture overview over the next few weeks. Pay attention to the details as you read, for they will further explain the big themes that will come out on Sunday mornings. Beyond that, make every effort to join us on these Sundays, either in person or by livestream.
Again, this week we will be in Mark 4-6. I hope that you will join us in person or via livestream.
Serving Him with You,

Fighter Verse for the Week:
"Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men." - Philippians 2:5-7
