The Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Church exists to partner with families in an effort to expand their child’s understanding of Christ and his gospel. Below are a few opportunities for your children to connect with our church as we seek to fulfill this mission:
Sunday Mornings:
Our desire is that your child would take a deep dive into the big story of the Bible, as they begin to understand that from Genesis to Revelation, God’s plan is to rescue his people through his son, Jesus Christ.
Nursery: The nursery is available during the Sunday School Hour for children birth – 2 years old. Parents are asked to please take their children to the restroom before dropping them off at class at 9:15am.
Children: Children’s Sunday School meets from 9:15 – 10:15am every Sunday morning on the upper floor. This is a key time for children from 3 years old – 6th grade to participate in small group Bible Study.
Youth: Youth Sunday School is for ages 7th-12th grade. They meet for Bible Study downstairs in the youth room from 9:15-10:15am.
Our worship gathering is at 10:30am. There is a nursery for children birth – 4 years old. Children 5 years and older are encouraged stay with their parents in the service. Age appropriate workbooks are available for children to pick up before the service begins.
Wednesday Evenings:
Awana Clubs serve children ages 3 years – 6th grade. They meet every Wednesday night 6:30 – 8:00pm from September – May. There is a dinner provided at 6:00pm for children in the Awana program.
Our youth, ages 7th-12th grade, meet downstairs in the youth room from 6:30-8:00pm. There they meet for teaching, prayer, games and fellowship.
Vacation Bible School:
Every year in July, First Baptist Church hosts its annual Vacation Bible School. We offer teaching, crafts, snacks, games, missions and music all centered around one biblical theme. With focused attention given to every age group, we welcome all children entering Kindergarten – completing 5th grade.
Check-in Procedures:
All children from birth through pre-k must be properly checked in with their designated teacher. A nursery volunteer will check children in on the computer or on the attendance sheet in the nursery common room. In addition to faithfully teaching your children, our objective is to rightly care for the physical well-being of your child. For more information about our child protection policy, please click HERE.
